Tinder Hearth Offers Thanksgiving Specials

tinder-hearth

It doesn’t take long for Tinder Hearth to sell out of bread.

If you’ve ever stood in line at the Stonington Farmers Market for Tinder Hearth bread, you’ll be pleased to know the Tinder Hearth Crew will be baking four – count ‘em, FOUR – special holiday loaves for Wednesday, Nov. 24th.

Tinder Hearth tells us their Thanksgiving Week bake schedule is Monday, Nov. 22 and Wednesdsay, Nov. 24.

Here’s what else they’ve told us:

This year we are changing the way we distribute the specials, and will NOT be delivering them to the stores. So to get your holiday bread, please call the bakery: 326-8381 to reserve your loaves, and plan on coming by the bakery on Wednesday to pick them up! (They’re at 1452 Coastal Rd. in Brooksville. Click here for directions.)

The breads are:

APRICOT WALNUT FENNEL

POLENTA PUMPKIN SEED HERB

RAISIN SPELT

NEW! BRIOCHE DINNER ROLLS  (10)

(The Brioche are simply dreamy… and come in a little pan so you can easily pop them in the oven when it comes time.)

Sending out love to you all!

Stonington Rocks Black Friday

Just because the season is over for the Stonington Farmers Market doesn’t mean you don’t have a lot of other reasons to shop Stonington in the winter season. Here are four!:

Make Stonington your destination on November 28-29, when the downtown of Down East’s prettiest working waterfront will again buzz with activity as local businesses and craft vendors offer specials, discounts, and a decorated downtown, including Opera House Arts’ annual free holiday movie and caroling at the Stonington Opera House onFriday, November 28 at 2 p.m.

Holiday festivities will begin in Maine’s leading lobster port on “Black Friday,” November 28, with Opera House Arts’ free holiday matinee at 2 p.m. The matinee will include caroling from the Deer Isle-Stonington High School Show Choir as well as special free cookies and hot chocolate. The carolers will lead attendees from the matinee to Stonington’s second Pop-Up Marketplace, where they and others will find favorite food and craft vendors from the Stonington Farmers Market and beyond, at the Odd Fellows Hall on Main Street from 4 to 7 p.m. Isalos Fine Art will be hosting their final show opening reception for “The Last Picture Show” during this same time, and Water’s Edge Wines will be anchoring the east end of Main Street with a wine tasting. Other downtown businesses including The Dry Dock and Unexpected Treasures are extending their hours and offering special discounts. Saturday, November 29 will feature Stonington’s traditional Holiday Craft Fair at the Island Community Center, including the arrival of Santa.
