If only rocks could talk, they’d tell you to come to this informative fun art talk Tuesday night at the Island Heritage House Barn. They’d also tell you to drop by the Stonington Farmers Market every Friday from 10AM to Noon to get your veggies, flowers, gourmet foods, art, crafts, and fun!
TUES, JUNE 23 Joseph Fiore Rock Art Talk
7 PM Heritage House Barn In 2014, Island Heritage Trust was gifted with two Joseph Fiore rock series paintings from the Maine Farmland Trust. John Ollman, art dealer, former student of Fiore’s at the Philadelphia College of Art and longtime Stonington resident, will discuss these works and the intersection between art and na- ture as well as Fiore’s evolution from Abstract Expressionist paint- ing to a more realistic presentation of the natural world. Ollman is delighted to see these works at IHT as they represent Fiore’s life- long love of nature and, in particular, of Maine and its rugged rock formations.
