Thank you to our Stonington Farmers Market vendors Michael and Michelle Rossney for sending this in. Apparently there is still room for not only food vendors but arts and craftspeople, too.
Dear Michael and Michelle,I recently met with Brook Minner who recommended that I contact you as a great resource for the 1st Annual Bucksport Arts Festival. I’m working with the Bucksport Area Cultural Arts Society to bring this exciting event to town on Saturday, August 15th. The festival will be held on the waterfront walkway along Main Street in Bucksport. It is a beautiful location framed by views of Penobscot Bay, Fort Knox, and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. We’re located just 30 minutes from Bangor, Belfast, and Ellsworth–the perfect location to capture summer tourist traffic. We currently have 20 artists registered, and have room to grow up to 75 for this first year. We’ll also be joined by a fantastic bluegrass band for all to enjoy. Rain or shine, we’ll be planning for a big crowd!I am contacting you partly to see if you might be interested in being a food vendor for all or part of the day. We are looking for 2 or 3 more food vendors to feed the masses Registration is only $75 for a 10′ x 10′ space, and I’ve attached an application form in case you might be interested. We would simply need a completed form, payment, and copies of your food vendor certificate and liability insurance.I am also contacting you to see if you might have recommendations for area artists that would be interested in participating. We would like to have at least 50 artists in attendance, although we do have room for up to 75, as I mentioned above. We have a great mix of paintings, photography, fiber, jewelry, and wood but there is always room for more! I’m particularly hoping we can recruit some potters or sculptors too. Please feel free to share this message with area artists, or pass along any names that I can contact. I would appreciate any recommendations you have.Artist registration is only $60 for a 10′ x 10′ booth space. Fine artists and craftspeople of all types are encouraged to apply and can do so online athttp://www.bacasmaine.org/bucksportartsfestival.html or can send in a paper copy by mail. We also have a facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/BucksportArtsFestival where you can see some of the artists who have registered to date.I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel to contact me at 852-9570 with any questions that you may have.Best wishes,Lyndsey MarstonFestival Coordinator and Artist
