Indian Summer

Katy Allgeyer is a vendor at the Stonington Farmers Market as well as the artist behind Art By Katy. Her partner Scott Morgan, also an artist, wanted to spend his final days Going to Goa India when he discovered he was terminally ill. Katy is also the webmaster for our market and continued to post news for us throughout that difficult time. She is back now and will be setting up her tent at the market beginning June 20th where Katy’s paintings and some of Scott’s work will be shown.

New friendships were forged while Katy & Scott spent nearly an entire year in India. One of those friends, Ritu Sharma, has been visiting Katy in Stonington with her 10 year old daughter this week. While touring the Stonington Farmers Market from 10AM to Noon this past Friday they discovered that many vendors in the market have ties to India. Blue Zee attended a 5 day Indian wedding there. Bob a volunteer at OHA took his wife on a tour of Rajahstan for her 75th birthday. Michael Rossney of El El Frijoles is planning a future visit to explore the culinary arts in India (and sometimes features Indian food on his winter restaurant menu).

Of course our guests were delighted to find Tandoor Downeast selling authentic Indian cuisine so far from their home, too. Black Dinah Chocolatiers got a rave review by our newest People From Away as well.
