You know the Stonington Farmers Market has many arts and community orgs
represented each Friday from 10AM to Noon during season. One is OHA!
On Wednesday, June 5 at 7 p.m., the lively bluegrass rhythms of banjos, fiddles and guitars will fill the Stonington Opera House as award winning Royal River Honeybadgers take the stage.
The Royal River Honeybadgers are a high school bluegrass group from North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, Maine. Made up of students aged 14-18, they play a range of traditional and contemporary bluegrass and American roots music. This past fall, the group toured China, performing at an international arts festival in Chengdu and in Beijing. Additionally, the Honeybadgers have been featured on WCLZ, WCSH’s show “207”, and in a variety of print media, both in the US and in China. Most recently they’ve made a recording, which is in the final stages of being mastered.
Tickets for this show are $10 and available only at the door. For further information and a full schedule of events, including ticket prices and OHA’s “Island Students Free” policy, visit the Opera House online at www.operahousearts.org. Advance tickets are not available for movies or the “Live for $5!” Wednesday night family series. The Opera House Box Office, at the corner of Main and School Streets at the base of the commercial fish pier in downtown Stonington, is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of scheduled shows.
