June 19 & 21 : Opera House Arts (OHA) is pleased to present three made-in-Maine films the week of June 18: Welcome to Lee, Maine and A Marine’s Guide to Fishing on Tuesday, June 19, with special guest speakers Tom Ricks and Kate Braestrup; and on June 21 In the Blood, a special multi-media presentation by filmmaker Sumner McKane of his new work documenting Maine’s lumbermen and river drivers.Tickets for both evenings are $8 and available only at the door the night of the performance.
June 20th at 7PM:Opera House Arts (OHA) is delighted to invite the public to attend a free book group style discussion of Cleopatra, the recent best-selling biography by Stacy Schiff on Wednesday, June 20, at 7 pm. The book group will be facilitated by national cultural writer Alicia Anstead, and is the first in a series of community events related to OHA’s 2012 Shakespeare in Stonington production of “Antony & Cleopatra,” July 12-22 at the Burnt Cove Church.
Copies of Cleopatra and “Antony & Cleopatra” have been made available at local libraries as part of Opera House Arts’ annual donation program.
