2012 Farmers Market ApplicationCORRECT
Stonington Farmers Market Membership Guidelines (Guidelines)
Some copies will also be available at the Island Community Center in Stonington.
Anyone setting up a table at the Stonington Farmers Market as a vendor, and therefore subject to any and all the rights and responsibilities of a vendor. Community organizations and non-profits also need to fill out an application, be approved by the Application Committee, and pay the yearly fee and the weekly fee. These fees are used to pay the bills for the Market (our advertising, our insurance, our signage, our parking assistant when we have one, etc.). This market was built up on the work and quality products of the farmers over the past 15-20 years, and the value of that market is high –no one should take it for granted nor expect to come to it without giving some compensation / remuneration to those who run it and provide the work needed for its continued success.
Thank you!

Stonington Farmers Market Guide-Lines
Seasonal Fees:
$20.00 application fee (application fee will be refunded if not accepted into Market)
$5.00 weekly booth fee
While applications are open to anyone who would like to apply, each year we attempt to accept only those new members who will offer items for sale at the market which are NOT already present in abundance. If you are not already familiar with what items are present at the market, reviewing the member directory may help.
General Guide-Lines:
1. All produce meat & dairy must be grown or raised by the vendor.
2. Baked goods & other food products must be made by the vendor (all state regulations must be observed).
3. Suitability of crafts to be sold at Market will be determined by the Application Committee.
4. Any special circumstances will be voted on by the Application Committee.
5. All vendors are responsible for their own liability insurance as the insurance policy for the Stonington Farmers Market does not cover individual vendors.
6. The Application Committee is made up of 5 market members, that represent different categories of the market. They are elected annually at the Fall members meeting.
7. All vendors selling fresh produce must be in regular attendance by the last Friday in June.
8. Seasonal fruit vendors are welcome to attend the Stonington Farmers Market given the fruit is locally grown by the vendor.
9. The Market runs Fridays from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon. *** NOTE:
This was voted to be changed to 9:30am-Noon for July & August 2011.
10. If a vendor must be away some Fridays, they should inform customers as well as a member of the Application Committee one week before their absences.
11. New vendors applying for membership will be evaluated & voted on by the Application Committee. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list if the Application Committee feels that there are enough vendors in a particular category. Preference for vendor space will be given to seasoned vendors.
12. Each vendor is responsible for having a professional looking booth, table or display area.
13. ** If you are required to have a license then please submit a copy of it with the application. You must provide the Application Committee a copy of the proper licensing before you are able to sell at the market.
